Colour palette & Cinematography
The bulk of the film takes place in the lounge/kitchen/dining area. In all of the rooms however I am going for orange tones, that light up the sides of faces gently and elegantly - Warm and delicate, like flames that flicker,
For outdoor scenes, the use of lens flares will give the film a soft and wintry touch.
In terms of camera approach, I see the shots being very intimate and personal, showing how the story affects each character at the same time as putting into perspective the world that these characters create for the protagonist. The movement within the frame would be as rhythmic as a heartbeat. When moments become intense, so will the pacing of the movement within the frames, however I see the frames themselves being quite static, so as to let the actor create a world within each space and paint a portrait of what they are experiencing in that moment. Lots of 2 shots, close ups and MCU.
We have done some camera testing and are excited to be using lens whacking, and vaseline on the lens for certain scenes to blur out the area surrounding Marie.
