Location Briefs
The House:
The family home is located somewhere in between the city and the country. It has a physical sense of being more remote, perhaps down a driveway with greenish surroundings, but the road by their home gives the impression of being on or near a city link.
The family are relatively well off, and have worked hard most of their lives.
Inside the main living area ideally would contain a lot of wooden, stone and/or creamy and orangey tile textures.

The living/dining/kitchen area:
This particular space in the script is all linked together, however if this proves to be difficult to find (considering there is also a fireplace) then it would be okay to have perhaps just a combined dining and lounge/kitchen and dining/kitchen and lounge set up.
Ideally an area that has many places to 'be' in it.

Marie's room:
This space is a calming one. Marie can find her thoughts here. The colours are a bit more vibrant yet mellow - blues, purples, maroons etc. The art decoration will be a bit kiwiana, but Marie will have filled the space with her own French touch too.

Sally's room:
This room is quite girly, yet not over the top. These images are more to give a sense of layout rather than actual colour scheme, although pink, purple and yellow suit her well. Typical space for a little girl to prosper in and have room for her imagination to grow with her.

The Staircase:
Ideally the staircase would lead off directly from the open living area, but this is not essential. Rustic, wooden type feel is what I'm going for, or at least wooden handle bars.

The Beach:
Somewhere with a distinctively NZ feel, perhaps with a Pohutakawa tree on it somewhere or Koru.

The Park:
This location is used for a brief but important scene between Sally and Marie on their walk home from school. The park is supposed to locate the girls near the family home, which is not rural, but is surrounded with green, Kiwiana areas. This location could even be situated on a pathway/public walkway through the bush.
